Kevin Montgomery with Al Perkins and Dean Owens at The Musician Pub, Leicester

25th September 2001

It was a great night at The Musician in Leicester on Tuesday! Dean Owens did his set first and did a couple of songs with Al Perkins - including 'That's Alright Mama', which rocked! Dean also played a selection of songs from his new solo album 'The Droma Tapes'. You can order Dean's CD at Dean's Official Website! It was then time for Kevin's set backed by Al Perkins on the Dobro. He played songs from 'Another Long Story', 'Fear Nothing' and his new live album! (Which is fab! It really catches the atmosphere and fun of the live acoustic shows!) I love Kevin's version of The Mavericks', 'I Don't Even Know Your Name'! You can purchase Kevin's new live album, which was recorded at The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville (on his Birthday and also features Robert Reynolds of Paint and Trish Murphy) on Kevin's Official Website! For 'Lets All Go To California', Dean joined Kevin and Al on stage to play guitar and sing backing vocals. Dean also played/sang on a couple of other songs, including 'Melrose'. Kevin also played 'Tennessee Girl' from the Paint CD. Al Perkins also played a solo spot, which included a moving intepretation of 'America The Beautiful', which was quite special. He also played 'Honky Tonk Woman' and got the audience to sing it with him! I won't say anymore about what they played as it might spoil it for those of you who are planning on seeing them! If you are, you'll have a great night!!!!!
