Whittle and Dub....

Whittle & Dub is the nickname of the traditional morris instruments (pipe and tabor) so we've borrowed it as a label for our folk duo. The pipe and tabor are having a bit of a renaissance on the morris dancing scene and we like to feature these ancient instruments on a couple of our own tunes.

Our line-up consists of Mick Maguire, a multi instrumentalist who plays fiddle, mandolin, guitar, penny whistle, bodhran and banjo, and Terry McCranor whose noises include guitar, bass, harmonica and pipe'n'tabor. Vocal duties are shared amongst ourselves and invariably spoon playing members of the audience!!

We are based in Rugby, Warwickshire and are available to come and play at your do. Equally at home in folk club, singaround, festival or beer tent. If you like your folk music played with attitude then you should give us a call on 07764 859574.
