Malcolm Evans....

Originally from Northumberland, but now resident in Coventry, Malcolm grew up playing and listening to a wide spectrum of music on guitar and tuba (yes tuba). He wrote his first folk/protest song "The Nine Ladies Of Stanton Moor" in February 2002, thought he'd better go to a folk club to sing it and ventured into the world of folk via "Folk At The Swan" in Bedworth in March 2002. Since then he's been to a wide variety of folk and acoustic clubs, and pubs, in the West Midlands, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Ireland. He's due to play at the Leamington Peace Festival in June, the Brinklow Folk Weekend and is in the heats of the Coventry Festival solo artist competition. Malcolm also leads the worship at All Saints Church in Allesley Village. He is to play at three church festivals this year: 'Firm Foundations', 'H3' and 'Grassrootz'. His music covers a wide range of genres, from worship to protest. His song 'NIMBY' (protesting against a proposed 'bigger than Heathrow' airport) made the news in Coventry in January of this year, culminating in a radio interview and an offer of free studio time. His ambition is to play a gig with Martyn Joseph. Anything is possible! His song 'Dream' has been adopted by St.Cecilia's School in Rosses Point, County Sligo, Ireland.
