The Beatles In Coventry: My Home Town

The Beatles at the Coventry Theatre.....

I think it was in 1963 that the Beatles came to Coventry and played at the Theatre. When they arrived the Beatles driver had to ring the police station to arrange a meeting place, so they would be taken to the theatre safely. The police wanted the Beatles inside the venue before 3:30pm, which is when the kids are let out of school. But they were already there and were surrounding the Beatles limo, so the police quickly took the car away and the Beatles went through a back door!

The Coventry Theatre/Bingo Hall being demolished! If you look closely, you can see the stage at the very back and even the old wallpaper! It has now gone completely and in place is the new Transport Museum and Pheonix Development
